Our Story

Tulipop is a celebrated Icelandic fantasy world for kids. Founded in 2010 by two good friends, Signý Kolbeinsdóttir and Helga Árnadóttir, their mission has been to create a world which would appeal both to their own kids and the kids in themselves. Their goal has been to create a sophisticated, beautiful and, not least, fun world where kids learn about adventures, learn about the importance of friendship and diversity, and at the same time promote curiosity and creativity.

Today, kids all over the world can get to know the Tulipop world and its characters through quality cartoons, books, music, and a wide range of beautiful products.

The beautifully illustrated Tulipop island and its inhabitants are created by Signý, who after graduating with a degree in product design, started creating and illustrating colorful creatures and worlds that she brought to market through printed postcards, t-shirts and sketchbooks. Signýjar's drawings and products were an instant hit in Icelandic design stores and it quickly became clear that the Tulipop world and its characters fascinated kids of all ages.

Following the good reception of Signý‘s designs, she teamed up with Helga, with the goal of creating unique Icelandic fantasy world for kids that could reach children all over the world. Since then Signý and Helga have been bringing Tulipop‘s varied landscapes and lovable characters to the world through quality merchandise, books, games, and cartoons with a huge milestone being the production of Tulipop’s animated TV series, Tulipop Tales (52 eps x 7 min) which is now in production and launching internationally in 2023.
